What if the superhero from planet Krypton landed in the Soviet Union and not in the United States? With his muscular body, magnified by his tight suit, the cape resting on his shoulders, his head deliberately reduced, Richard Orlinsky’s stone sculpture exudes the strength of Bolshevik sculptures. Superman stretches out his arm, like Stalin indicating the direction to follow. The American vigilante could just as easily have embodied Communist propaganda. Orlinski questions history through the confrontation of the two giants of the Cold War.
