After interpreting Michelangelo’s David, considered since the Renaissance as the canon of male beauty, Richard Orlinski pays homage to the masterpiece of ancient Greece: the Venus de Milo. Evoking the two blocks of Paros marble assembled at the hips, the artist contrasts two styles: a faceted bust full of tension and a fl uid drape emphasizing the sway and fl exion of the left knee.
